A Few Ways To Supplement Muscle Mass
By: Rian Haswanda
There are a lot of people who work out just because they like to be in shape, but you might be more interested in learning how to
supplement muscle mass. Outside of eating more protein, which is the key component of all muscle, of course, there are a few other things that you can ingest that will help you to manufacture natural muscle more efficiently while simultaneously expending your energy properly, which will allow you to
build your body mass in the healthiest way.
Protein supplements come in five basic varieties: Whey, Casein, Egg, Soy, and Blends.
1) Whey is the most basic protein that comes from animal sources and is best used post workout, when your body is quickly trying to rebuild and repair the 'damage' from your workout. Use it within
30 minutes of your workout.
2) Casein is digested very slowly so it is best to use this supplement later in the day, closer to when you go to bed because that is
the longest period of time that you are deprived of any nutrients.
3) Egg protein is the middle-ground metabolic and is appropriate for any time of day because it provides a steady stream of
amino acids for the body.
4) Soy is the only completely vegetable source of protein and although is not absorbed as well as whey, is still considered
a highly valuable alternative.
5) Blends are any product that combines more than one kind of
protein product, which allows you to digest specific amounts of protein throughout the day.
Aside from protein, you can use
creatine supplements. Creatine is a nitrogenous organic acid that naturally occurs in the body which helps bring energy to the muscles. This allows you to work out more efficiently. You should also consider vitamin B, and antioxidants to
supplement muscle exercise because they help improve energy and reduce free radical damage.
